Description
StrippedGraphite on Illustration board
Final drawing will be 30” x 40” this is 8” x 8”
As far as the single elements this is the last major one, (two eyes, roots, crow and skulls) now it’s time to put it all together. Symbolically; the first eye is accusatory, it holds blame and makes the viewer part of the narrative. This eye looks into the past and the future, yet there is an apathetical aspect to its gaze, in the final version this should make more sense.
Thanks for the great comments and questions so far!
Armin

i just leave it the paper color by drawing around these areas, erasing smudges the edges so i leave that alone most of the time, thx

I guess this is what I'm ultimately striving for. But since I've only been drawing 2 years (1,200 hours) I got something to aim for lol. I don't think I've said this before, but you are bar none the best I've ever seen, and I've SEEN a LOT! Can I sit at your feet and watch you draw?

thanks so much! I seriously wish I could get skin tones down the way you do! Maybe I draw too small? Each of mine have no larger than 6 inch faces and take me 8 hours. It's my formula for size vs time vs details. I loose interest fast!

Size is an issue but before five years ago my drawing where about the size of yours, once you go large you’ll never go back…………….errr I guess that’s right. Try a big drawing, 20” x 30” or so, maybe of your son, its quite a interesting process.

OMG! Today I did a few sketches of eyes and I thougt that I'm quite precise.. but! That's not true! You're the eye-master! Your contrast and detail could be called 'a masterpiece' so... I call it that! Congratulations!

You have patience. I can see this in your work. You have an incredible amount of patience. You're very gifted, too. I just love how the eye is so detailed, with important emotions. You take your time to show it too.
I'm trying to figure out the emotion of the eye, but I can't pinpoint it. Doesn't look happy or sad. Somewhere in between content and aware...
Or maybe that's just what I think it's saying to me.
Either way I like it.
