Wow great job , especially the coat of arms. The double edged swords(Zulfiqar) and the Achaemenid lion, a combination of the Persian nationality and Shiism which is the dominant religion of the country!

I could realistically see the flag in reality if they dropped the beast in the center for something else

Don't think so. The "beast" in the center represents Iran's pre-Islamic history. While respected, it is supplanted by the twin "Swords of Ali", depicting Iran's Shi'ite beliefs. (Hopefully, the artist will correct me if I'm wrong...)

Great flag, love the design! One quibble here. The Iranians have been calling their country "Iran" since the Achaemenid Empire. I think, just my opinion here, that they would call it نئو ایران, "Neo-Iran"...
