Description
Didn't plan on doing a making of but I had some photos of a few steps so here it isI used empty 12 gauge shotgun shells for the bullets then 3D printed the tops of them
Most of her costume is pretty made up of belts and leather
I painted pink stripes on some white shorts in fabric paint
Fishbones was made of an old water gun and cardboard then spray painted. its not perfect but its close enough lol
Bullet necklace was 3D printed
Hope this helps
EDIT: I don't know what type of watergun in it is sorry. I found it broken thrown out on the side of the road
UPDATE: I found the watergun in a shop today! I've added the photo of it in the package to the top of the image for you

Wow seeing the type of materials you had this all came out really nice, especially seeing the finished products all put together in the photos of you wearing the full outfit.

This is really cool! Okay first question: how did you get access to 3D printing/how much did it cost to make all those bullets? More importantly though, how did you make/get the thigh-high? I keep looking all over for thigh highs to use and I can find the fence net just fine, but finding a good base color is a nightmare. Especially because in game it looks more purple but in videos and for most cosplays it seems more pink?? I'm so confused on her color palette sigh. But you look fab! Especially with the hair, it makes it look that much better with the top part real~

my brother built a 3D printer from parts his friend 3D printed him haha
I just cut normal stocking to thigh high and layered fence nets on top
I based it all on the video
Thanks and good luck with your one!

How did you attach the bullets to the belt? Was the fabric attached to them leather or regular fabric? Also did you use a sewing machine or did you hand stitch?Ā

it was a mission! hand sewed a piece of leather on top of a belt sewing around the bullets as i went. so when you take the bullets out you have lots of little pocket things.. i broke so many needles lol
hope that helps

What kind of needles did you use? Also what kind of thread? Did you use basic thread? Sorry to bother you. I am making a Jinx cosplay too and I really appreciate all of the advice and answering my questions. Thank you so much.

just normal needles. they need to be sharp to get through the belt and not too thick but thick enough not to break. and yeah just basic thread.
cant wait to see your finished costume!

The material? It was really hard to find. In the end my grandma randomly had a tiny piece just big enough for me to use

Hi! I love your Jinx cosplay! I am having to make Fishbones in a time crunch and I was wondering where you found such a perfect water gun model. Is there maybe a link you could send me? Or something comparable?

Would you recommend me to get a watergun too, or do you think it'll be easier to use an empty tube?

2165-4561 In reply to xPoppi [2013-12-01 18:01:57 +0000 UTC]
Depends how accurate you want it. It's easier with a water gun cause you already have the handle and stuff there so its a lot more stable. This was my first time making any type of weapon lol so you might know a better way to do it

Thanks!
I'm actually gonna use tubes and try to make them adjustable so I can push in the big fin in the back, to make it easier to take with me to the convention. I was hoping to make it able to open and close Fishbone's mouth, and maybe even put some lights in there for extra effects :3
