Thanks - I guess I have about 30-50 hours in so far on this thing. Materials will be coming, but this is still far from being finished in modeling. As far as the material - dusty and used yes - rusty no. Not for realism anyway - there is no oxygen in space to facilitate rusting lol!

The guns? They are a mix of several types of AA, Energy Cannons & Railguns. The two main weapons are just under the 'chin' of the front of the ship - two large cylindrical objects that are huge and extremely powerful particle beam cannons that were originally designed to be on an orbital defense platform. Those two powerful beam weapons can be seen in action here [link]
