Well for a basic quadsuit I charge around 700, but if you want it in time for Halloween I'm not sure that I could do that. I cant make any promises that you would have it by then and to try I would have to charge you around 200 in rush fees.

That would make it cheaper. But it would still cost you around 700 in the end.

If you buy all the fur and foam it can lower the price but that depends on where you get it.
I buy all my materials from the best bargain places I know of.
The cheaper you go the lower the quality gets though.

I beg of you! could you please give me some tips on how to make one and where to start? it's my first time making one and I'm not exactly what you can call an "expert"

2bit30 In reply to Brilliantku [2012-07-19 20:00:04 +0000 UTC]
well the first thing you need to do is make a duct tape dummy to work off of.
Then you can use it to foam and fur your suit accurately.

this is my first quad and i would like to know if your using pipes does it make your hands feel wierd after awhile. what type of eyes do you prefer reisn or follow me eyes?

2bit30 In reply to Thaydonthevamphog [2011-07-17 16:56:38 +0000 UTC]
sorry for the late reply.
The pipes for the stilts can hurt one's hands if they are too small a diameter or if they are not padded properly but overall they are pretty comfortable. One thing that is good to do if you can afford it is to put small fans at the bottoms pointing up at your hands as it does get hot inside the stilts, cutting vents in the pipe is also helpful.
I like both resin and tooney eyes. I can make resin cast eyes following if I want, and the range of vision is about the same for both types; so its really a matter of personal choice and what works for the character your doing.

Okay First question
how will i be able to see?

2bit30 In reply to Thaydonthevamphog [2011-07-23 01:32:06 +0000 UTC]
this is actually an old blueprint, the new way I make my quadsuits is with the head mounted above your own on a helmet at an angle and you see through a vent in the neck.

thank you for answering my questions!
I think i have just a few more. Second question: how do you shape the head?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
2bit30 In reply to Thaydonthevamphog [2011-07-27 19:49:18 +0000 UTC]
no problem.
There a a few different ways to shape a fursuit head. If you are making a foam based head you just build the head in the shape you want it with the foam. If you are making a plastic canvas based head, you glue the foam to the plastic canvas frame and shape it with scissors to look how you want it.

Ah,this looks quite explainable! The head looks pretty uncomfortable in that sort of position, but I am sure that is if your head was to face down,or possibly just a minor setback^.^ Either way I really like this, since I know how to do all the things myself, but never knew the stilts could be simple to make.
So in general, for the front paws, all you need is for a PVC pipe that you can comfortably fit your hand in,and in isn't to big or to small to make the arms look out of place, and you put the handle, which I resume to be a small block of wood shaped to let your ands wrap around, inside the pipe with....?Hot glue,LOTS of it? Nails...somehow? Please tell me you used hot glue!
Either way, this is very good. I will most definitely reference for this when I start on this around the end of the year

well this was drawn a while ago, I'll be drawing new blueprints soon. So the head would be mounted on a helmet at an angle to make it comfortable to see out a port in the neck. The stilt handle is a dowel a comfortable circumference for your hand to wrap around it inside the pvc pipe. The handle is connected inside at either end of the dowel with screws through the pvc and dowel. I'll try to draw up new blueprints as soon as I can find the time.

The neck and head position looks uncomfertable, you might want to change that. You should probably look through the neck not mout. I learned that the hard way in my quadsuit XD

ya, I know; this was drawn a while ago before I knew how to make proper quad suit heads. I'm thinking of drawing up a new blueprint.

Ya I've been told that its more comfortable and more realistic, but I dont realy like the bump in the neck thats created, and the mouth kind of hangs open with that method which I dont like. but to each their own right?
