My only knowledge of Samba de Amigo prior to drawing this was the weird mode on Phantasy Star Online when the 'Samba Carnival' started playing... That was odd.This was for the rather excellent Playd Magazine
I did it a while ago and have been meaning to put it up for ages. I did this long before but it makes me think of the rather excellent illustrations from Mario Hoops/Basketball for the DS.

It's no offence to you, I didn't create this character. Both the character, and the title were created by Sega, and used in the computer game Samba de Amigo. I was commissioned to draw this piece for a small magazine, but all that aside, it isn't intended to offend you. Sorry if it did.

Sorry, I don't understand. 'Samba de amigo' is a particular game character, I just re-drew him. I believe the theme is Mexican, but I know very little about the game as I said.

I don't know much about it either, but I know that it was a game made by Sonic Team (PSO, Sonic, etc.), and for some reason one of the characters, a giant humanoid cactus, was a playable character on Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 for the Dreamcast.

Actually, the cactus character debuted in Marvel VS. Capcom 2, not Samba De Amigo. Although I can see the mistake, seeing as he would fit in with Amigo's cast.
As for the game it was fun, and anything with a monkey that plays an instument is instantly fun and funny. Screw you Guitar Hero! (just kidding)

Some sort of deal, since it was a Sega system... makes some sense, if you ever played Soul Calibur II. The Gamecube version had Link from Legend of Zelda!
