cuba was part of new spain but it had its own government with its own politics military and economy that had nothing to do with new spain it was only part of new spain like a decoration but the viceroy of mexico city did had not power on cuba florida and louisiana the captain of cuba ruled from havana and was the one who decided what to do in cuba florida and louisiana also captaincy of guatemala was not under the rule of the viceroy of mexico city they did had their own goverment politics in guatemala city and economy only philliphines and santo domingo texas california new mexico and the modern mexican territory remained under the control of the viceroy of mexico city....... learn more before saying something like cuba belonged to mexico which is false

Mexico didn't own anything beyond the scope of the Oklahoma borders. This is the Spanish viceroyalty which was overthrown during the war for independence on September 16. Prior to Euro colonization the most prominent tribes controlled the land from the entire southwest of modern-day USA to the vast majority of Central America, but there was no country formed, only tribes warring with one another with the Aztecs becoming the most dominant.

Nice, but, you know, the parts of the USA that used to be part of Mexico (Alta California, Nuevo Mexico, Tejas) are missing from this map
