Description New version of Stereogram Lab which now allows
to render hi-res images (up to 300 dpi).

Did you wonder how I create my Magic Eye Stereograms with a texture properly aligned to a hidden image? Now you can do the same.

I published a free version of Stereogram Lab which now supports MTS. It may be also found at
[link]

Download zip file (the Download button on the left), unzip to any folder and run SL6MTS.exe

7 examples of Color/Depth Map included for your convenience, please use them for training purposes only.

"How to" tips:
1. Open Color Map [F3]
2. Open Depth Map [F4]
3. Press [F8] for render options (or use menu->Render->Settings)
4. Select Stereogram Type and Adjust Repeats, Depth, DPI and Oversampling if needed
5. Click Render button and here it goes!

Use [F2] to save the result, or use autosave option.

No spyware/adware. For Windows only. Freeware, use in any project you wish.

Good luck and look forward to see your MTS!

How do you take the basic JPEG images and open them in 3Ds to create the depth map from them?

A common way to create them is to use 3D modelling tools, like Blender3D or 3D Max

no, it renders stereograms (which you don't see so far) from 2 source images.
if you have anaglyph glasses try this technique - [link]
if you (very unlikely) don have binocular vision, you can try animation method, it doesn't require special eye tricks - [link]

now how do we go about making our own color and depth maps?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

3Dimka In reply to AngelLover89 [2007-01-11 13:46:52 +0000 UTC]

I use 3D modeling software to render both maps from one scene, some people do it manually in photoshop (they would take a picture and draw a depthmap for it. You can also play trying to use same picture for both color and depthmap.

I use 3D Max for depth maps. Chech out my thread in DAZ Studio forum, there are some tips you may use - [link]

And again, it's not necessary at all, thank you. Also, if you are interested, I recently delegated printing and selling my Stereogram posters (which are not in my dA gallery) to binaryprints - [link]

Excellent! I'll add that to my favorites list and check it out! Thanks.

I should be experimenting with your MTS software soon. I'm done writing tutorials for the moment and I need a break from GIMP. I'll provide as much feedback as I can.

Take care.
