A lot of sci-fi aircraft doesn't look like it can really fly or be very fast, but this does. That's the realistic I'm talking about.

Maybe you are looking at some less thought out design, there are tons sci-fi are or space craft that in physics could not fly but do looks like they should fly, that's what I call a good mech design.
