Description Here coloration pissed me off, this is why the first animals are just a mess (especially the bat). Then I took a break and, after chilling out, came back to do the fishy toons (not for sushi, ok? ok.   ).

That bat looks like it could eat the octophant.

Like a Roc, sure. Unfortunately it just a scale problem, it is a common bat and that is an enormous fantasy creature. But your comment give me many ideas for possible monsters to draw, thanks!

Given the grim reaper next to it, I wasn't sure if the bat was giant or if it was just scaled differently.
haha you're welcome.

26 also looks like it's straight out of the Cthulu mythos.

27 is adorable. Can I have one as a pet?

The stick figures running around are very amusing to me.

Also much as I know you're hating the color, the results are fantastic, leave these works alone for a little while and come back to them later.

You've also got me really tempted to draw some of my fantastical creatures. Like the sailor hungry spiders.

42Ly In reply to LadyKylin [2017-05-16 17:36:45 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I thought the same when I drew it XD

Sure (: But will you have enough space at home for this little one too?

Childish graffiti again

An excellent advice. Also, you made me curious speaking of sailor hungry spiders! is it a creature from Cassie's universe?

LadyKylin In reply to 42Ly [2017-05-19 02:16:03 +0000 UTC]

I can see the Cthulu influence and I do enjoy it.

I think so. Depends on how much space they need to roam.

The Childish graffiti is awesome. It made me grin.

Nope, the spiders are from my other fantasy setting. Though Cassie's does have what I've thus far called magpie spiders. (They like decorating their lairs/webs with shiny things. However they, despite they're massive size are actually vegetarian(they suck the juice out of fruit)(Size wise their body is about the size of a german shepard, but they`ve got long spindly legs so they can take up a lot of space when they want to.)

A german shepard?! I need a continental distance between me and these spiders!
I like the idea of magpie-like insects!! It's really ingenious, their webs must be a fantastic thing to see <3

Sorry for the late reply

well you've got the distance between you and the imagination.

I'm quite found of my magpie insects. They're fun.

I love the Octophant, he is so awesome ;D
The small blue catfish is really cool as well, together with the green dragons.

The bat is also really cool.

You could totally make a monster guide, you have the skills necessary!
I just love you and your art. You are awesome, always know that from a dutch mate

They would be enormous! Imagine an herd of them going around a coast, it could trigger an earthquake or a tsunami XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

voltron0effect In reply to 42Ly [2017-05-14 23:00:25 +0000 UTC]

Or what about a... tsunamiquake??? Since the creature combines an animal of the water with one of land, it could create a whole new element, haha!! And who cares if they'd be enormous? The more gigantic they are, the better, I say, haha!!! XD

I guess you love Godzilla and Kaiju, am I right?

voltron0effect In reply to 42Ly [2017-05-14 23:26:21 +0000 UTC]

Yep~ older Godzilla movies, though, haha! Can't wait for Pacific Rim 2, too!!
Are you a fan??? Is that how you draw such fantastic creature designs??? >:-DD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

42Ly In reply to voltron0effect [2017-05-15 09:38:29 +0000 UTC]

Didn't know about Pacific Rim 2! OoO
I can't be called a fan, I saw very few titles with kaiju and creatures like those ^^'' Ideas come out from books, comics and obviously games more than films like those. But recently I'm becoming more curious about the topic, since I saw a youtuber speaks about Godzilla movies.
What are your favourite Kaiju? (:

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

voltron0effect In reply to 42Ly [2017-05-15 20:26:11 +0000 UTC]

Well, I don't think it's Pacific Rim "2" necessarily, but another Pacific Rim for sure! :-DD Books are definitely a good resource for creating monsters, especially books where they leave it to the reader's imagination with the design!! I grew up watching some of the older Godzilla movies with the bad English dub-overs, haha, but my fave will always be the Godzilla vs King Kong film! <3 I also enjoyed Godzilla 2000, which was not well-received in the franchise, and the Godzilla cartoon based off of it! <3 <3 <3 So I guess Godzilla is my fave Kaiju, considering that's about the only Kaiju I've ever watched aside from the Pacific Rim movie...? I don't remember if the Kaijus in Pacific Rim had specific names, but I do like their designs! ((-: How about you???

42Ly In reply to voltron0effect [2017-05-16 16:18:36 +0000 UTC]

Wow remember me to ask you if I need info about Godzilla
Me? I'm a poor noob in this field :,D I only saw the most recent movies of the genre, like King King(2005), Pacific Rim and Godzilla (2014). And Monsters (2010), it is not exactly the same genre, I guess, but I really like it.
About Pacific Rim Kaijus you can find their name in the wikia (pacificrim.wikia.com/wiki/Kaij… ), if you're interested (:

...at the moment I don't remember any other movie, book or game which I could have seen/read/played

voltron0effect In reply to 42Ly [2017-05-16 17:32:15 +0000 UTC]

I don't know that much regarding Godzilla (other than watching the movies), so I don't think I'd be a good resource on info, haha! I've never seen the newer King Kong movies (but the one that released this year --- Kong Island? --- looks awesome) and I've never heard of Monster before; are they worth viewing? I confess, the newest Godzilla bored me halfway through and I didn't finish it, haha... But I might try again one day! I think they're making another Godzilla film that's related to the 2014 version...??? Hopefully that'll be better! And yeah, I'll definitely check out the Pacific Rim Kaiju wikia!!! Have you ever seen/heard of Cloverfield? I guess that'd be included in the Kaiju genre, as it's similar to Godzilla and them. The video camera style of the movie is a little off-putting though, haha... @ ~@

42Ly In reply to voltron0effect [2017-05-16 18:32:37 +0000 UTC]

I think King Kong is good; same thoughs as you about Kong Island. Monsters manages to create an intense atmosphere, in my opinion; I recommend it, and if you'll see it I'm curious to know what do you think about the movie (:
Yeah I heard of Cloverfield; never saw it but want to. I think you're right, it's the same genre. Do you like it?what are you thoughts about?

voltron0effect In reply to 42Ly [2017-05-18 00:39:18 +0000 UTC]

It's been many years since I've seen Cloverfield, but from what I remember, it was a decent monster-flick! The whole home-video capturing style of the movie was very jarring though, and physically upset me, UGH... I guess like motion sickness??? @ ~@ And yeah, I'll definitely research "Monsters" and see if it's interesting enough to watch (for me)!!! :-D
