“Hold on Hoshi, we’ll have you in sickbay soon.”

It was supposed to be a simple trade mission.

How did this go so horribly wrong so fast?

Hoshi’s groan of pain pierced Jon’s heart, much like the arrow now embedded in the woman he loved.

The dissident, protesting trade with off-worlders, was unfortunately a poor shot with the crossbow, Archer being the intended target.

Holding Hoshi in his arms, Jon had no intention of releasing her to anyone but Phlox.

Jon felt the familiar tingle of the transporter. As dematerialization began he heard a soft whisper.

“I love you, Jon.”
