Yep! * v * This is called Lineless CG, it's a little tough compared to using lineart(but this is from my point of view, you might find it easy perhaps?) there are really no rules to art, my tutorial is just how I do it and steps to help people who don't know where to begin.
So go wild and give it a go if you want to! * v *

Well, Lineless CG is like drawing everything without Lineart~ ^ - ^ Like getting straight to the painting without the lineart. Hehe, sketch at the bottom then skip lineart. (but others might do it differently)

ok...i opened an image with the lineart already on there (i did i traditionally) but the layers...the god damn layers... i dont know where to put them. I put the image at the top of "hair" and "skin" and start painting but my lineart gets completly covered O.O ahhhh (οΎΰ²₯ηΰ²₯οΌοΎο»Ώ β»ββ» and what tool did you use to colour the base colour for the hair? airbrush ? ahah this is my first proper time im using sai and im just HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGHHHH

Hrmm...did you make sure your hair/skin layers are selected? ; 3 ;
And because you scanned in your lineart, it may not work? Because when you scan lineart in, you scan everything including the white parts of the paper along with your black lineart so it becomes one big image so you can't paint under the black lines because the white part of the paper is covering it.
I use the airbrush tool to colour the base, but pen works just as well, as long as you have a solid colour for your base.

Do you, like, have a specific settings for the brush/airbrush (whatever tool you use to shade the hair)? I mean, I seriously have no idea what those settings do and what to change to achieve a certain look

My settings for my brush can be seen in Part 1. ^^ I use the same brush settings for hair and lineart, only the minimum size is set at 100% for shading.

Really? You draw lineart with the same setting you use for shading the hair? But the shading on the hair is rather blurry and stuff. The lineart isn't.

Hrm...you can try reducing the brush density then. It should be somewhere below minimum size and brush settings.
