Ooh that's an interesting question! Sorry this is so late, I didn't see it til now ha.

Sonic x Mega Man is a little tricky. I think I would most likely say Stevonnie. They complete eachother almost perfectly with how well they get along. Both are fun-loving, laid back and determined heros who's always willing to lend a hand, though there are some problems they may be trying to sort out still.

Retsuko x Haida could be Rhodonite. Though we've never met their character unfused, their pranoid and stressful personality suits Retsuko and Haida very well. They're both nervous wrecks from what life throws at them (Haida especially) and when brought together as a couple, who knows where it'll lead. But they always have the comfort of always being together.

Gex x Xtra (lizard and agent) I can honestly see them being the original Rainbow Quartz. Bold, beautiful, confident and knows how to make an entrance all while rocking an 80's glam aesthetic.

Haru x Hime (the anime couple) would be Smokey Quartz. They're both troubled by their imperfections. When they come together, they become more unified and embrace their flaws. A big part of that anime is that each character has an avatar based on a deep rooted trauma that they learn to cope with so it seems fitting they would be Smokey Quartz.

Spanx and Redmond (the weasel and rabbit in chains) would be Sugilite. One is quiet and somewhat collected, the other a loudmouthed ball of chaos. They are an uncontrollable mass of destruction when together, that can be for better or worse. They can be a little unstable. Sugilite is perfect for them.

Bunnicula and Chester (cat and vampire rabbit) would most likely be Opal. You have Chester's elegant, high cultured and sophisticated aura with Bunnicula's unpredictable strenght and abilities. They somewhat unify eachother with their differences, even though there are times where they don't get along.

And last but not least, Crash x Spyro. I think I'm gonna have to say Sunstone. They're fire-based, are strong and they even look like Crash in appearance with the body shape, color and the jean shorts resembling his pants. Both are very 90's-esque characters so hearing their fusion spout out various saftey psa's and dated catchphrases would seem like a normal thing.

Hard to say for me as well, I love all of these characters for different reasons. But I would probably have to say Spyro as well.

Not only do I like his character, but his games are fun to play as well and are a childhood favorite of mine and that's something that can't be said for the others. Whiplash for example, while I absolutely adore the characters, the game itself needs a little work.

On top of that, just the amount of lore and creativity Spyro has to offer is what really got me into mythical creatures and similar interests in the first place. I could just get lost in all the little details.

I can understand why you'd think his attitude is a problem. I don't really mind it too much, how I see it is that Spyro is very young in the first game compared to the other two entries. And as young kids do, they tend to not listen to their elders and cause mischief and such. But by the time you get to Spyro 2, he acts much more mature and seemed to have mellowed out a little bit, along with maybe taking his title as a hero more seriously as well? It's subtle but I do see a bit of character growth between the games and I see why they'd keep it for the remakes.

though... the weird thing is... he seemed to go back to his more rude self in a Hero's Tail, and not only that but it seemed his attitude actually got WORSE.
he apparently in a Hero's Tail will only help people unless he gets rewarded, geez...

Yeah that kind of is a problem. Story-wise, it doesn't make sense why he would suddenly act that way again.

But from a game standpoint, I think they were purposefully trying to give it that feel of the first game. Things like making his voice sound nasally, bringing Gnasty Gnorc back and taking place in the dragon worlds with elders, etc. And I think the personality comes into play there too.

That doesn't excuse him being rude though and wanting rewards for help in that game XD
