Crash and Spyro have been through a lot. They practically grew up together. Wherever one went, the other would follow with ups and downs along the way. Though Spyro was starting to grow distant with each new home they would move to. New places and unfamiliar faces that never seemed quite like home.

Then one day, Crash disappeared and wasn't heard from for several years. Spyro had the spotlight for awhile until he too seemed to be pushed aside in his own world. Life wasn't the same anymore. Things seemed to be getting worse.

And then, after a long wait, Crash finds his way back. With the two reunited, even though the world they both now live in wasn't the best place, they at least had each other.
Crash and Spyro finally had a place they could call 'home'.

So! Crash is in Skylanders now. My feelings have been . . . very mixed. But what's most important to me is that I finally get to see his goofy grin again. And I gotta say, the model they made for him looks great! I knew that once this was announced I had to draw a reunion picture with him and his old dragon buddy ^_^ It's great drawing these two again. The idea for a picture stems off of an au I had a few years ago that I tweaked a bit recently. It's a loose metaphor of Crash and Spyro's game history, going to the same companies together and then Activision splitting them apart.

I had the thought that as the years went on, Spyro would grow more distant from Crash, and as he did so, this changed him physically and mentally. The more distant he becomes from the ones he loves, the uglier he gets. The point where he reaches Skylanders and tries to start a new life is where his good nature becomes nothing but a facade. Sure he helps people when he can and he tried making new friends, but he's been dead inside for far too long. Then once Crash returns after many years, Spyro at this point thinking his best friend was dead, Spyro can start being himself again. Or something along those lines.

Just a thought anyway, interpret the picture however you like! ^_^
