Description
I wanted to try my hand at a proper tutorial. I know there are many out there regarding emotes, but you might as well start with what you know! Hopefully you'll find something new or useful to think about when you read this. ΒRelated content

Thanks Krissi! I never really stuck to a specific kind of base, but I generally use the ideas covered in here to make them.

Thanks! I was hoping it wouldn't be like "Oh, another one of them."
I have it worked out in my head, just need to get it on screen!

Never thought about the lighting on the bottom... Never even noticed in on the emoticons. This might help quite a bit.

Thanks! Most of the really good looking emotes (imho) have a very spherical appearance to them. There are more ways to achieve that, but I think the basic principles regarding light apply regardless.

Whoa. I'm not an emoticon person, but this was... this was a really great tutorial! It was very easy to follow, and I learned a lot. I've never thought about light bouncing off of the floor before! I'll definitely start thinking about that when shading now. I learned a lot about shading, even if I won't use it for emoticons! Great job!
