I love the way you do someone's profile, I can't really describe it, but the style has a certain edge to it. Whenever I try (note the word 'try', never really succeeded) to draw a feathered wing like that, it always ends up looking...gay. D: I don't mean to compare you to anybody or anything, because I know some people find that offensive, but the way the wing connects to the arm, it looks like something out of Howl's Moving Castle. *inhales* Ialsolikethepiercingsandthehair. : D Pardon the rant, but now I'm done.

I'm glad you like the profile, since for me it's a hit-or-miss kind of thing to have to draw; either it's good or it's terrible.
I really had to take it slow with the wings because I'm likely to mess up something like that orz I actually didn't notice the similarities to the style in Howl's Moving Castle until half way through colouring this, myself xD; I guess I'm just slow like that.

Yeah, I've got a long way to go, before I can do a decent profile. HOWEVER, I will persevere! I would practice if I could find the time and motivation, motivation being my main problem ^^". In this case, though, the profile was definitely not a miss. The piece itself is kinda dark, but I can deal. Not everything in life is happygoluckysunshinehellokittyjusthurledalloverit kinda stuff either. I will finish by saying that headress thingy is bitchin'.

There's also the fact that when happy pieces are done too over-the-top, they become scary. I saw this ad for a travel agency, where this woman was smiling while she was swimming in some tropical place, but her smile gave me nightmares. ;A;
darken the atmosphere and it would kinda look like a scene from jaws. I didn't know whether or not she was smiling or grimacing at first. I thought a shark bit her leg or something >\
when i realized she was trying to smile, i got kinda freaked out.
