Description
Last time, I did a gesture study for this animation, and now, here it is! The finished animation. This was fun to do.Ps. As always, I'm open to any critique and suggestions to making my art better! So if you have any thoughts or anything like that, lemme know!

skips are the hardest cycle to animate besides animal walk cycles, according to my old animation profs... I couldn't master it, but if I had yours to reference I would have had a better chance lololol xDĀ
Well done!Ā

Thank you!
Yeah, skips are quite hard. I had video reference of myself, and I also did the gesture study on it - I think the two of those things really helped me with this one.

Yeah I think in the early stages of my animating I didn't use enough reference, now I use it everytime!
You really brought it out naturally, it's very impressive. I used 2d paper flipping for mine, it was 2nd year of college (3 year course)Ā
Great job man!Ā

Clean up your animation curves in the graph editor; watch your knees motion trail because they look wobbly. The hands need some overlap cleanup at the front/top of the arc. If you put some rotate forward and back into the spine, he'd look less stiff.

Thanks for the critique! I'll apply your tips, play around with the animation, see how it goes.

this came out good. i tried something similar to this a while ago and failed miserably hahaaa. did you rig the hair to flop around like that, or did you use some kind of modifier?

Haha, I was having a rough time with this, tbh. Doing the gesture study helped a lot.
And no, the hair is just hand animated, adding keyframes through the cycle. Its not rigged or using a modifier.

That's really neat and I'd say it's mostly accurate too. Nice job!

haha awesome! Looks great!! Ā
The only thing that seems odd to me is how his hand unclenches when it swings back. So I acted it out and when my arm swings back the muscles clench up a bit. lol that sounds weird. But in my reenactment of this animation my hands barely changed in shape. idk maybe I'm helpful :3

Thanks!
Ah, good spot. Yeah, I think I should change it and have the fist stay clenched all the way through the cycle, and just tighten it a little when going upwards. Also, yeah, you were helpful. :3
