You have such an interesting, flowing style. It's really beautiful.

i really like the energy in this, it's like still mister ultracool batman but in a more individual less technical way...which is something i haven't seen done with batman a lot.

thank you.
i really love comic book art, but i'm often disappointed in how much of it looks the same. One Jim Lee is enough!

i completely agree, I would love to see more invention and new ideas in mainstream comics. draftsmanship may be impressive but just because you can draw a doorknob perfectly every time doesn't make it interesting.

i agree... there are some pretty cool indie comics out there, tho. Check out Jordan Crane's work if you aren't already familiar with it.

okay, crazy stuff just happened. I'm looking up this Crane dude and I'm like 'wow, this looks familiar'...my aunt brought me back a pack of his postcards from one of her trips to the u.s. (sooo many postcards of dying people)
i love his line work and use of texture...i can seem to part with any of these things, lol

that's a crazy coincidence! his work is beautiful, isn't it? if you can track down any of his NON or Uptight comics, they're totally great.

it really is, there's this great sense of simplicity but at the same time there's enough to look at that you're still engaged. I love it when you simultaneously describe a piece of art as complex and simple at the same time.
I'll be sure to check them out

yes... complex and simple!

where in the states did your aunt get the postcards? i know i can order them online, but i've never seen them for sale before.

interesting, thanks.
Paul Pope is another good one... although his writing isn't as good as Crane's.

so. um. you just seem to keep on coming with all my favorite artists.
I haven't been able to get my hands on much stuff from Pope but I did like 100%. It reminded me of RENT only in the future where they've engineered a proper storyline.

hmm... well, let's throw out some more comic book artists that i really like; Steve Ditko, Jack Kirby, Frank Miller, Los Bros Hernandez (Love & Rockets), Sean Phillips' work on "Criminal", Matt Wagner (does killer Batman work), Dan Clowes, Joe Sacco.

ah, RENT... it's almost like it exists to be made fun of.

Frank Miller is just a bag of goodtimes, I shall have to check some of these other dudes out
It's sooo true. Hell, I'm a person who sees value in musical theatre and I can't stant RENT.

as far as musicals go, check out a 1981 film called Pennies From Heaven, starring Steve Martin, Bernadette Peters and Jessica Harper. includes a show-stopping number by Christopher Walken. if you haven't seen this movie, it's well worth watching for it's sheer strangeness and sad beauty.
