I'd been puzzling over this for a few months before I think I finally figured it out.All I knew was that Oblivion only sees out of one optic.
I couldn't figure out if that optic was Oblivion's eyepatch or the narrow slit. I thought maybe the patch was a seeing aid...but now I'm pretty convinced he sees out of the naked optic and the patch is just a patch....

Half Pint: *emits a little shriek of disgust, jumping back* EwwWwwWW!! *puts her hands up protectively over her olfactory sensor, continueing to back away* That's DISGUSTING!! You ACTUALLY HAD SOMETHING?!!

Axis: *blinks and then grins* What? Don't like chipmunks? Here-- *pulls out a fiber-glassed armidillo*--have a baby dinosaur!

(Reeeeally! I shall have to hear it sometime! You don't hear about fiberglass armidillos everyday!

Axis: It's a thing cranky people like Backdraft get when they lose their temper too much. And it always happens on their aft.
(Well, it wasn't a FIBERGLASS armadillo.... but it was still rather funny.)

(Alrighty. Well, y'see, my friend from Maine came to see me a while after I moved to Oklahoma. Thing is, she's a big city gal and had never really been in the country. So, after we were driving back home on the highway, she saw a dead armadillo on the road... Her response: "OH MY GOD! YOU GUYS HAVE BABY DINOSAURS HERE!?!??!"
My mum was laughing so hard she had to pull the car over until she could BREATHE again. I wasn't much better off. So now, they're famously known as baby dinosaurs in my family! xDDD)
