The temptation of writing a fic about Derpy dying and being reincarnated as a cat is horrible.

Actually, this may be the only time we've seen Derpy in the entirety of Season 4...

You could argue we saw her at the end of the premier after some color correction-modification to account for the time of day and her darkening to make her less visible from the mane 6 at the the Raising of the Sun. It's also been argued she was briefly and distantly in Rarity Takes Manehatten.
At the same time, Derpy somehow turning into a cat is rather amusing thought on its own.
