I've had this drawing of Metalhead sitting in my computer colored and finished for a while, but I meant to get a background in for him. I put it off after my computer crashed out while I was working on the lines, and this weekend I finally got back to it.

My version of Metalhead is a mix of the old and new versions, picking out details I liked from both and mashing them together. The background was just some quick lines I threw in with photoshop based on some random references I found around the web. Lots of color shifts, textures and lighting effects with the use of layers once the flats were in. These sort of things are fun for experimenting with different combinations of those things.
