If this is the impression of Lessa and Ramoth, the mother is so old that she teleports Between immediately after this scene, never to return. Β The scene is a rather bitter-sweet one, the dragons going from celebrating new life to mourning the loss of one of their own.
If you haven't read "Dragonflight" by Anne McCaffery I recommend it.

Based on the dead Queen in the background, I am guessing that this is Lessa Impressing Ramoth.
This is an absolutely beautiful atmospheric piece that really captures the spirit of the moment. Naturally, in a real Impression, there would be dozens of newly-hatched Dragons all around Impressing their new Riders. Of course, for every last one of them, they might as well be alone on the Sands too, because that is how personal and powerful the experience is.

Awesome image of Lessa with a ridged, nearly dead Namorth behind them. Though I don't think any hatchling, even Ramoth would be strong enough to stand on their hind legs immediately after hatching. Anyway, I really think this is pretty dang awesome!
