Here's one I did last summer. Hope you can recognize those ominous shadows.Ink, nib and brush, inkwash and watercolor on 9x12" watercolor sketch pad. Characters trademark of Mirage Studios.

Two years later, I think I appreciate this piece even more. Love the ominous shadows of the Mousers while Splinter maintains a tense but relaxed position.
Also, the whole layout reminds me quite a bit of the wonderful IDW Splinter Micro-Series cover:

Thanks. I don't usually enjoy looking at my old sketches but that's one I do still like. But that's also because I really like Splinter.
BTW, I swear I'd never seen that micro-series cover until a year after I drew mine. lol. At least I don't remember seeing it.

It's a beautiful piece. And part of the appeal is that it seems we are getting one last glimpse of Splinter's serene moment before the peace is disrupted by a home invasion!
