Here are 2 robots that i have designed recently. they are only pencil sketches of the design. i plan to do an illustration of 2 robots fighting in the city soon. hopefully i can finish it.btw, i just saw the latest Transformer movie trailer. it totally stuns me man. some of the robots are a bit freaky, but i can say those are some special effects that we dont normally see in movies. the trailers will torture us for another 2 months untill we can watch the movie..
i hope my final finished work will be as stunning as the fighting scenes in transformers...
the one in the left is done after the one in the right. so, which one do u like more?

Really nice designs. Overall I prefer the latter because it looks more intricate. But both are great, and there are parts I favor more than others among the two figures. Hopefully you can successfully pull the battle scene off.

thanks alot^^ personally i will prefer the one on the left because i think it is simple and nice rather than too complicated and it will be easier to create actions from it too. i think simple designs sometimes look more high tech than complicated ones. for example if u compare concept cars with modern cars, futuristic concept cars are often very simple and nice with just a few lines while modern cars look more complicated.
i hope my battle scene will come out well and wont disappoint people~_~

I agree, many times simplicity can look more pleasing and pleasant.
I do believe you have the skills to create a wonderful battle scene. I look forward to seeing it.

haha u got it right. well i did not actually copy from it but it really inspired me as it used to me one of my favourite animation. i think i told u about it but i forgot the english name.. haha. i loved that design of those space knights so they actually influenced me a bit. but those were more like bionic armor and not so much like electronic robots like mine.. so.. anyways i think in the fighting scene that i am about to paint it wont look so much like tekkaman blade

There's elements in both robots that i like though i think i slightly prefer the one on the left a bit more. Either way both drawings look fantastic, i'm looking forward to checking out the final piece of them fighting!

WOWWWW!!! these guys are crazy (in a good way)! lol~ i love robot stuff. especially when mixed with hot chicks (i'm pretty sure i'm straight, but... sorry i'm weird but every once in a while i need to check. haha!!)

oh i know both of these artists. they are from Singapore and they visited my college in Malaysia before. they are great artist.. and they are so young... i need to catch up with them.... my mecha piece is inpired by one of them. they really have crazy imagination and still manage to produce realistic work.

yes i talked to Kunkka particularly and he taught me quite a few things. he is great and humble. i hope i will reach their standards soon.

well my illustration lecturer last time is Artgerm's colourist for some of his street fighter drawings. u can go check it out in Artgerm's gallery. he mentioned about it. so i guess IFS is quite close with our college in a way.

haha im not so good in drawing robots actually. i can only do the front view now.. still need more practice on different angles. but im fine with hot chicks and i like drawing them.. haha

if u are interested i will try and make those views. but might not be anytime soon as i have to finish the illustration based on these 2 robots first and after that i will draw the other 2 views with colours.
