I live about two minutes away from there, but on the other side : )
Always good to see an original photograph of the bridge!

Glad you like the bridge shot.
Seem to spend a fair amount of time crossing it these days - my son lives in Newcastle and that's my preferred route.

Thank you.
I was trying to produce something just a little different - places like this get photographed all the time. Glad it seems to have worked. Glad you like it - thanks very much for the comment.

Totally cool. At first glance thought it was the Golden Gate but something didn't look quite right; it is a single span suspension bridge, though.

It was for some time the longest single span suspension bridge in the world, but there are some bigger ones now - glad you like it

Great shot, can't believe I missed this one when you first posted it! Must have been during my busy time, when I was pretty much skimming very quickly through most of my dA watch list. Oh, what beauty we miss when we try to rush through life!

Thanks mate, glad you like it.
I'm afraid I'm in "skimming" mode too at the mo, 1015 deviations that I ought to look through and so little time. Had a big church event at the weekend, and an even bigger one coming up, so bit short of time.

I understand how those church events can take over your life, especially in a large, very active church. I've been a member of a church like that and when there's a major event going on, it's all that's on anybody's mind. Just be careful you reserve some time for yourself. Remember, even God rested for a day.

Beautiful scene. The shot is done very nicely, the grass/plants in the foreground look really great, without them the picture would probably be too empty. The Sepia tone looks great as well. Very good shot!

aartvark In reply to simondrawsstuff [2006-07-18 11:42:56 +0000 UTC]
Thanks very much - you're right, without the foreground the shot would lose a lot of its impact, took a little time to think about those things before I took the shot and its nice that it seems to have worked.

Thank you
I wanted to try to put something like that in the foreground and luckily they've left that area a little overgrown - mind you, bending down to take shots gets harder as I get older!

I know where you are coming from. I used to take photos from ground level, lying on my stomach, but if I get down that far now, I can't get up without help Sad really

Think I need to get a bit fitter, at the moment I'd "ground out" if I tried laying on my stomach to take photos. lol

spectacular prospective and i like the "old tone" too, nice work! clouds inclused! here aren't so nice clouds , can you tell me why???

aartvark In reply to cpt-smith [2006-06-19 08:36:01 +0000 UTC]
It's the positive side of all the bad weather we get in the UK, we get nice clouds now and then I'd stick with the sunshine if I were you, you could always fake the clouds.
Thanks
