This is Seth's plushie ( www.deviantart.com/lostinthefl… ), and once again I tried something new XD

I wanted to try a mix between hand-drawn and 3D/highly rendered drawing, so I experimented a lot.

I'm not sure how to feel about the workflow, it's very messy, but it got the job done. First I made the clean high-poly models and the low poly models, then baked the base textures (normals, ID maps, AO, Curvature) in Substance Painter and made the base textures there, but then I brought it back into Blender. I used Krita to draw the seamless hatching pattern, baked the soft lighting, and then used the sharp lighting to extract shadows and use them to mix the hatching with the base colors. After that I manually added some brush strokes where needed.
For the background I used my Painterly Shader with high-poly bricks. As for the outline effect in 3D, it's just a displaced copy of the model with a black material, inverted normals and backface-culling enabled.
In the end I baked everything (including the lighting) into a texture, and also used the normal map to add some reflections.

it's funny how getting a 3D model to look like a sketch is harder than it seems and takes significantly more time to do than just a 2D sketch

Anyway, I had a lot of fun and my next project (an art trade) will be more or less similar to this!
