If that thing from Who Goes There (aka John Carpenter's The Thing) merged with an xenomorph, the universe would be screwed. Sure fire kills both species but all it would take is just one missing limb from the xenomorph for it to change into something else and infect other xenomorphs while killing anything that isn't of it's own species.

lol ok so if the xenomorph impregnated a "thing", and that was the result of that unholy union, would the new hybrid be a xenomorph in the sense that has a built in loyalty to a hive or queen? would it be a thing in the sense that it could now mimic a xenomorph perfectly because it started as a xenomorph/hybrid? or would now be a completely new entity with its own agenda with regards to survival and reproduction, having no instinctual loyalty to either parent species?

My friend and I were talking about this today. He thinks that xenos cannot catch diseases just because they're technically bugs.

this is a great concept!...i wonder what a queen would look like if she was crossed with the thing.
my theory is, this is what could happen if a face hugger got someone who was infected by the thing. so the chestburster would get infected because the thing would copy it to.

Oh, so great! To me, Dead Space had the environments from the Alien movies, with monster designs from The Thing. This is a good way to put the two together, though!

I agree. if anything, this is what happened when a xenomorph absorbs the things abilities. that thing is getting a taste of its own medicine and being assimilated itself.
