Interesting style. I like that although Morgoth's face is completely hidden he has faces shaped into the helmet.

Thanks. The helmet was a great way to avoid trying to portray evil. Leave it to people's imaginations to fill in the space.

The dichotomy of the opposition is great here. It is legendary, which is of course the point. The style of the combatants and their equipment makes me think of a Medieval artist who is using conventional styling of his day, but who knows just enough about ancient armor to adapt it to his taste. Morgoth's secutor-style helm makes him look impersonally colossal, but I would have liked to see more of his shield decoration.

Your intentionally verbose speech patterns make you appear both unintelligent and pedantic. Please refrain.

Sorry for being able to use words of more than 2 syllables, a vocabulary greater than a Disney movie, and the ability to link multiple concepts together in a single paragraph. But I am not going to dumb down my speech to you, or anyone else when I want to make a real comment. Especially when dealing with the works of Professor J.R.R. Tolkien, who loved words, their meaning, and their use in telling rather verbose stories. If you can't keep up, don't read my comments.

All of the large words Zeonista used were used in a way that made his intent more specific. Large words exist to add more meaning to a sentence.
There is such thing as stupid and useless use of big fancy words...
...but that is when ones overly complex vocabulary is intoned in such a fashion in which no additional insight or purpose is affixed to what could have more easily been portrayed with abundantly less embellishment to ones terminology.
Zeonista is not guilty of this crime.

Thanks, man. I was definitely not going for a prize in the Byzantine Sophistry Category.

Absolutely epic!
Unlike most ppl. who have draw this scene, you made Morgoth look absolutely gigantic and terrifying!
I like the gladiator- like mask helmet and armor.
Fingolfin also looks absolutely heroic and i think everyone can sympathize with him being terrified. Buy yet he opposes Morgoth.
It really feels like another era then the LotR moives or other more medieval like artwork.
Beautiful work!

Feanor may have been the Greatest of Finwe's sons, but Fingolfin will forever be more Knightly - a pity his Kingship is most memorable for its tragic end.
In any case please accept my compliments upon producing a most splendid sketch Master Abe!

Never envisioned Melkor like this, absolutely awesome. Love the Greco-Roman aspects to both armors, definitely a different approach to the Gothic medieval stereotype.

Good job. I like the depth you created. Values are spot on.
What kind of paper are you using?

Nice! I like how you've achieved the sense of scale here without overly emphasising either character.

Wow!
The armour looks really great on them both.
Feels a bit odd with Morgoth having a shield to that huge mace in my opinion though.

On a strictly practical level it doesn't really add anything to his Armoury, but given that Morgoth appears to have been enormously reluctant to fight King Fingolfin in the first place it makes sense that The Enemy would want to girt himself with every ounce of protection that he could possibly carry!

True, but how on Middle-Earth is anyone going to convince Morgoth of that if he thinks otherwise?
