I received the mood of sadness as well, but also, if i were to envision a scene for this I would see him saying that, kissing her lightly -- and then leaving. Just gone. It makes me feel very inwardly reflective when looking at this piece.

Yes, this is Rei. Well, she has one big and quite a few smaller stories, most of them ending dramatically. I'm horribly fastidious when it comes to our dear Uchiha-san and my oc-ing comes from this (selfish) fact, and from that I really can't see no one good for him in Naruto.
That's a beautiful, deep moment you described and to tell the truth, very nicely sums up the dynamics of the above-mentioned stories. After all, Itachi is Itachi, solitary, detached, in pain, end-seeking. Not for him *love stories*, nor they were before. And I'm very grateful there are more people able to see him like that, no matter how hard they are to find. [FF.net ;_;]

Yay... Someone that agrees with me! I definitely agree, good ones are SO difficult to find, Itachi is no shallow, or cruel character, and he shouldn't be depicted as one. I hate people that think they can write Itachi, and then butcher him so bad it makes me want to cry! T.T
