Part of me admires what those geeks at DARPA have done. However, another part of me is very much able to consider the broader implications of what ATLAS will eventually develop into. Either way, cool bit of artwork on your part rendering the big dumb bot.

I suppose they will only be as evil as we make them

Evil? No, I don't believe future iterations of ATLAS will be fielded without an operating AI. What I've seen of AI is not sufficient to warrant great fear, at least in my mind, but suggests a good deal of potential to vastly improve quality of life for everyone.

It's how the top ten percent in our societies hierarchy will adapt or respond. While those in power might fear a robot rebellion, I fear those in power more so as their prevailing psychology suggests they would destroy civilization to prevent themselves from seeing their power taken from them, even if its for everyone's good. Powerful people tend to not respond well to those who cannot be coerced, manipulated, denied, or deceived, especially when their psychology is rooted in denial of reality.

The reflection on the panel is impressively photo-realistic.  Great work!

I was about to praise you on the design because it looks so functional, like how a real robot would look. So many people basically just make a metal human. But then I realized that design actually exists.
It's still really awesome, though! I like how it's emerging from the concept art. You captured the design really well.

The folks at BD have been super busy beefing up this robot.
Here's their first major improvement from 2 years ago.  www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVlhMG…
And this one from 3 months ago.  www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRj34o…

It's pretty cool that is resembles a 3D render.

Nah.  They were briefly owned by Google until the tech giant realized that they genuinely cared more about revolutionizing robotics than profit, and then let them off to do their own thing.  Big companies don't like subsidizing smaller ones when there's no payoff.
