I find the first few transitions fascinating. Initially, the being is propped up in an almost cockeyed manner, and his head is skewed to one side. He looks more curious than he does immense or noble. The transition that occurred around the third slide corrected that, making him look far more pensive, reserved, and knowing - as though he's omnipotent, and nothing the curious little Birrin do could possibly intrigue him/her (or it) in the slightest.
Personally, I'm a big fan of minimalism and stark contrasts. As such, I preferred the few you did near the middle, with the metahuman being white and the sky being a crisp, stark blue. Something about the minimalism, the immaculate purity of the being, and the ominous, immense spire floating off in the background all mingle together to create the perfect experience of awe, wonder, mystery, and dread. It truly looks as though the metahuman is some hyper-advanced organism, come to deliver a nearly incomprehensible message.
Not to say that the final version wasn't impeccable! It certainly was! The darker tones gave it a bit of a more ominous feel, and the clouds definitely helped to define the sheer immensity and scale of the being.

Woosh. This has got to be one the more interesting step by step images i have seen. I gotta say i like some of the older versions more. I especially like the 3 ones near the end that has a bit of a wider field of view. They are more immersive and i can feel the scale of the being more so then in the other ones... i think. Yeah anyway, i like em all really.

Hmm I see you changing color compositions from phase to phase. What made you stick with bright orange and dark blue in the end?

I love how many variations you went through before settling on the final version... Now I don't feel like such a lunatic for weighing the difference between 100% and 99% saturation on any given layer. lol

Watching your idea evolve into the current illustration was very inspiring. Any time you could have stopped and the picture would have still been visually pleasing. What I learned from this was to not focus only on correct proportions of form and properly using color theory, but also frequently improving changing the illustration display the idea. Understanding that some times the completed art pieces are not going to illustrate your desired idea on the first or second try looks present here. You really remind me of this old quote that goes something like "Art is never finished but abandoned."
