If a Birrin discovered Earth, what do you think the Birrin Race would think of Humans? Are we still as violent a race as we are now?

Abiogenisis In reply to Luckysweep [2013-07-24 11:26:13 +0000 UTC]

Humans have branched into several new species, and would barely be recognizable in most cases.

Luckysweep In reply to Abiogenisis [2013-07-24 12:06:16 +0000 UTC]

Would this be because humans have discovered other planets at this time, or did they naturally evolve on earth?
Maybe they changed and "mingled" like in Doctor Who?

Abiogenisis In reply to Luckysweep [2013-07-26 17:13:10 +0000 UTC]

Some of them changed on earth, and a few changed later living in space. Though most humans dont live on planets now, but in space.

Are the birrin ingenious? And when did you ever start drawing? And what were your first aliens?

Cool, any examples of said life?

PS: Talking to you is just about as cool as talking to Charles Darwin. Your art is inspiring and amazing, and I wish to some day be able to create art at least as half as good as this. Not to mention the life you create is ridiculously amazing and original.

Haven't designed them yet, though it would be algae mats and insect like creatures at the highest level.

Darwin-King In reply to Abiogenisis [2013-01-31 23:30:46 +0000 UTC]

Ah. It odd, the smallest things can be so interesting, right?

Ever heard of that squarish algae thing? It is a photosynthetic (I think) cell that grows in perfect squares. It's real neat.

Oh wait... Two questions, what planet are they exploring, and do you mind elaborating on this book project? Any book with the Birrin in it would be absolutely AMAZING!

Abiogenisis In reply to Darwin-King [2013-01-29 16:16:17 +0000 UTC]

The book project will be a long time coming, but it will happen. The planet is a nearby mars like world in their solar system that holds simple life.

I love how you've managed to create such an original and non-humanoid creature that can function in such a human way, flying spaceships and wearing pressure suits n' whatnot.

I'm so proud of those drug sniffing little quadrupeds them!

I love the insectoid appearance of the lander and the iconic eye, as well as the weathered black hull, indicating a utilitarian vehicle on one of many missions. The white-clad Birrin astronaut's focus on his examination of the terrain generates interest. All-in-all, I'd say a very provocative SF book cover, speaking from over 40 years of enjoying the genre. Keep up the good work!

BlackGryph0n [2011-02-12 09:35:14 +0000 UTC]

Is the large planet in the distance, the Birrin home planet? Or a close moon? (I assume it isn't a large moon because, as you know, the gravity of the pictured planet would be way to strong to land on if that were the case. Sister planets could be cool though!)

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

SomeKindaSpy In reply to BlackGryph0n [2012-09-28 21:10:05 +0000 UTC]

Addendum: The description says a Near-by planet. That's probably the planet's moon.
