I faved this picture long before i read Hyperion Cantos, I'm had no idea, who is this chartacters, but I anyway faved it. Now, after I read all books of series, I think this is the best illustration of Hyperion Cantos, from all I've seen. Great work.Β

The Shrike moves through time backwards so the outcome of the battle is decided even before Megatron starts it. And just a touch from the Shrike would give Megatron a "Merlin Disease" that will make him age backwards until he doesn't exist anymore.
But that's the least of things. The Shrike is so powerful that both FORCE and PAX Swiss Guards are wet tissue paper to it. This is same armies with ships that hang out in the inside of stars and infantry weapons that can carve the moon.
The Shrike is massively faster than light and can can cross the universe easily. It can also stop and control time whichever way it wants and even use this power to make a practicaly unlimited army of time clones of itself.
It only "lost" toΒ KassadΒ cause a) it was jobbing it and b) it was all according to plan.
No way Megatron's touching that.

I think it is due to lack of precise description of his look. There are hints about it but nothing clear. It's all about how you imagine him.
Also I don't know how much Hyperion Cantos was popular actually. Books don't tend to have much fanart, or not so much as movies and tv shows.
