I love all your artwork, but here I have to say that this is seriously cool.
Love the Birrin in the scuba gear, and I can definitely see (from all your other artwork) how they belong in the same family tree, like we do with fish and whales.

That Birrin wetsuit is too cool. I almost missed that on first viewing. And great design on the Sardu - again, very Barlowesque in feel. The rich blues of the image are delicious!!

I want to make a sandbox style video game based on the birrin planet. Just get a whole team of people as genius as you to design the entire world, and make it up into a sandbox style game. Even possibly add a actual plot. heck, i'd settle for the basic pokemon snap setup to tell the truth.
i question is the name of the planet 'Birrin', or is that just the name of the species? If it is, then what is the name of the planet.
The thing that makes fantasy or sci-fi tv shows, movies, comics, series, etc so popular is the mythos. The fully developed unique worlds of each of these genres. Your Birrin artwork is no different.

I just stumbled across this. What a beautiful and striking image! It looks very alien, yet also very plausible and realistic. Good imagination -- and great skill!

Well my week had already started out on the rough side but this just instantly made me feel better. Honestly the color and little details made this piece a joy to behold and the narration only made it that much better. When you release a book of this stuff I'll snap it up on day one.

I see! It really looks like "Liomegapterodon", but the many jaws and the shape of the rear end add something of a squid into it, and the many eyes make it look very alien!

How deep are these seas? Have you ever heard of hot ice? What would life be like at such depths?

Hot ice is a weird phenomenon that has been produced in a lab using a hydraulic diamond anvil. It shows the strange ways water would behave 16 or more miles deep under one gravity or higher.

The Birrin are in the ocean at home? For water creatures they seem to be really good walkers

The birrin are strong swimmers and can hold their breath for a long time. However they are more land adapted.

Strange, I was just thinking yesterday how an alien species would react with a liquid dominating their planet, like water is to us. Coincidence?
Anyway, creatures like this with horizontal jaws always appear interesting and exotic. Good work.
