The large ones open sidewatys and inside them are powerful back gripping mandibles that drag the prey back toward the sturdy powerful jaws in the head.

That's awesome, I imagine it would work similarly to the way a Moray's secondary jaws would, but with more chomping involved.

A formidable predator indeed! I wouldn't want to run into one of these guys when they're hungry.

I love your work. It is so original. Most alien creatures resemble something, or are reminiscent of some creature that already exists. The anatomy and design of your creatures are unique and brilliantly illustrated.

I can see a slight resemblance to liopleruadon but i think that makes it a little more realistic. have you ever heard of convergent evolution?

I can kind of see a slight resemblance to a Liopleuradon but in a way that makes it a little more realistic. have you ever heard of convergent evolution?

I had to Google liopleuradon just to be sure... but no, he doesn't really look like one at all. He reminds me a tiny bit of liopleuradon, and orca, and humpback, and birds, and cuttlefish, and squid... which means he's unique, but still looks like life!
And boy howdy is that a tall order: "Draw me something no-one's ever seen before... but make it look real!"

The Birrin and their world are by FAR the most beautifully realistic I have yet to see. I love that you have actually THOUGHT about how everything works.

Another well-orchestrated piece from the Birrin world. I'm astounded by the complexity of this particular organism. Superior work, as always.
