I like how you did the variences in shading. (I totally butchered that word XD) It's really different and nice!

Thanks! I'm still learning about this shading thing. I've discovered that the more graphite added to the skin the better it got. Hard to explain, I'm not good with words or typing on this computer! I've heard that there are about 10 different shades of gray you should use in your graphite drawings, I don't know if that is possible but I'm working on it! I'm also trying this vellum paper and it gives the skin the appearance of texture skin, if that makes any sense!

Wow where did you learn all this from? Sounds interesting but I usually can't follow directions too well haha. Can't wait to see what you do next with it though

I just read a few posts from other artists here on DA, the more experience ones! I'm not sure what to draw next.

simply amazing job! the dreads came out fantastic, can i just ask you what is the difference between bristol paper and normal? because loads of artists use it but ive never been able to find it!

Thanks! I'm pleased with the out come of his hair! The bristol paper seems heavier than the normal paper. It comes in a couple of different weights, like 300 or 400. The smooth is great for graphite, and this is the first I've tried the vellum, which has a slightly bumpy texture to it. Some people like it because it makes the skin tone and texture look real when you use the graphite on it. You could try looking in craft or art stores. I get mine in a store called Michael's. You might also try online too.

Yeah, the 2b worked great, but I think this vellum paper may have helped with it too.
