Well I know I said I would have it finished today, but its not . The reason is that damn bottom left corner part with his clothes! Damn your clothes jack! Why do they have to be so stinking detailed?!

The large, flat section of his clothing in the bottom left took roughly 5 hours to do. 5 HOURS!! I had to keep reworking it and reworking it until I finally got a look I was even remotely satisfied with.

The section of his clothing to the left of that, is another story entirely... First of all, I know for a fact that I gave it too many folds. Just that took about 3 hours, and it's not even done . It is currently just a mess of crosshatching and light/dark shading with a 2B mech. pencil. I still have to blend it, refine the shading, increase highlights, increase mid tones, add details, re-implement highlights, add details, smooth details, and add final touches. So yeah, another 2 hours or more worth of work before it is "finished". But is anything ever truly "finished"? heh.

Oh, and as if that wasn't enough, I still have to do the background and his hair to the left of him (our left his right). So you could say I still have a little work to do before its done.

Apart from that... I'm really having fun with this piece! Can anybody guess how long I have spent on this so far? .....Dam, I can't even remember... Wait, about 37HOURS! Good grief... I started out not caring, but now I really hope I have a chance at winning the contest.

Hmm, am I missing anything? Guess not. Though I'll just link the contest before I check out.
