Description

Hello,

So here is my first Rainmeter creation - I am not a developer but we are not doing anything crazy here - I would still consider this a beta compared to the experienced posters.

There is a good basic description on the preview image for you to read.  Like most downloads some basic configuration is required.  Tested this on XP, Vista, 7 and 8 - A few things will not work with XP.

This is a huge collection of simple string and meter options to let you use only what you want.

Put in as many options in as I could to make many things configurable to your background or theme.

SpeedFan is optional but required for fan speeds, voltages and temperatures.

The assumption is that you will merge this with your favorite weather app, media player, reader and launcher.

Please provide feedback, report any issues or even give feature requests.

I hope that at least 1 person uses this so I can see what you come up with in a screenshot somewhere.

Thanks to the Rainmeter team and everyone who has created something that I have used.

Take this, tweak this, make it yours and have fun...

-Eric

Looks nice and works as intended but for some reason, I can't get any temperature or fan info to work from SpeedFan (4.51).  Any suggestions?

Looks like I wrote this with version 4.49.  When you launch SpeedFan is it reading your system?

Hi abndvr64,

Is it possible make to change reference to "Speedfan" to "hwinfo"?

I am not a programmer, I tried ... but I can not.

Can you make this change or tell me how to do, what to change?

Thank you for your response and congratulations for your work. This is, for me, THE skin

Love this skin... but i'm having trouble with the drives. I can't seem to figure out how to edit the skins to reflect different drives on my system. I don't see the variables to change them. Am i missing something? Some of my drives have goofy names, thanks for any help

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

abndvr64 In reply to idahoprime [2014-06-24 05:56:19 +0000 UTC]

Look for a file named SysInfoSettings under the SysInfo skins folder.  In there you will find the drive letter variables.  Just edit the file and then save it when the letters match up to your drives.  Did that help?

This is essential for anyone wanting to use Rainmeter as a monitoring tool. Just one suggestion. It would be nice to get a history graphic of temperatures also. Like BlueVision. Otherwise this is the most complete monitoring rainmeter skin I ever found.

Awesome - I used this one as a learning tool.  Too bad that more people that are really good at this do not make complete packages.  I will revisit your suggestion when I finish up my current project or update this one.

Thanks for the nice words and request.  I can work on that but I will have to learn the Nvida and ATI plugins/aps I think.  We will see how friendly time will be to me.

This is exactly what I've been looking for! I've tried about 20 other skins that would report parts of what I wanted to monitor, but not everything.  This clearly has it all.  The only issue I've been having is with SpeedFan recognizing my GPU fan speed for my GTX 760, yet the temperature is read correctly .  GPU Z has no issue reading all the details, so I assume it's only a matter of time until SpeedFan gets updated for widespread GPU support.

Thanks for the skin!  I have included a screenshot in the link below.

Awesome - Finally a screenshot too!  Glad my crazy modular design worked for you.  I tested this on 4 different computers and on each one of them SpeedFan had some sort of limitation.  My current project will not need any temps or fans but on the next one I will look around and see what else most people are using or maybe even use SpeedFan and something else.

Would be very useful to have a grid overlay to line these up. Maybe some example setup's for different resolutions. There is allot of great information that can be displayed

abndvr64 In reply to JohnMarchant [2013-12-01 16:35:09 +0000 UTC]

John - I agree with you and I need to learn how to do that.  Lining them up L and R is a challenge even with snap to edges on.  I only use the sides and that is one thing that I missed.  I also need to learn how to make an options display where you can change things in there rather than going to the config file.

Wonderful suggestion and thanks for that.  I also hope that I can see some screenshots of people using this so I can figure out more things that I did not consider.

JohnMarchant In reply to abndvr64 [2013-12-06 17:37:15 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for that. Ive played around with the fonts sizes and colours as well, not allot just enough to make it a little different. Ive download a grid wallpaper to try and make lining up allot easier.

Thanks for this skin, this and BlueVision are my favourites. Im thinking of changing the colours on yours to reflect BlueVision and visa versa. BlueVision has a good world clock, notepad and weather display, but your meters are allot better and more options to change.

It would be nice to have an easier way to get into the colour changing via a colour wheel as well as font sizes and types.

Keep up the great work mate.

Regards, John

Hi, I found this great skin, if I just allow me, I'm missing an option to darken the background because when you put a clear picture desktop background, it is way more good information. Thank you very much for your work.

Bonjour, Je trouve ce skin excellent, si je peu me permettre, il me manque qu'une option pour assombrir le fond car quand on met une image claire en fond de bureau, on ne voie plus bien les informations. Merci beaucoup pour votre travail.

Hello!  It makes me smile to get a question from someone so far away.  I hope that I understand what you are asking me.  You can change this to any color or multiple colors.  In the example picture I used a white them on a black background.  Everything is the same white color and I have set the brightness on some things higher than others.  I understood that some people would want to change all of that around and so you can.  You can edit the SysInfoSettings file which should be in your Rainmeter skins folder: \Documents\Rainmeter\Skins\SysInfo.  Find the color section and then you can read the instructions on how to change items.  If you are talking about setting the background on each meter then I really did not design it like that.  With this theme it is best if it sits on and all around any wallpaper or background that you use.  You can edit the MouseBiteColor=0,0,0,1 option and see what that will do for you.  Did I answer your question?  Oh, I am sorry that it took me a while to respond as we had a holiday here in the USA and I was traveling.  -Eric
