Description
EDIT: I've changed Quin's design because his old markings weren't accurate for a yellow-billed magpie.

Here's my reference sheet for #Windsonde ! If you don't know, #Windsonde is an art challenge/rpg group based on gryphons. Windsone has specific requirements for all gryphons and... Pash didn't meet them (only realistic colors are allowed). I decided that it would be easier for me to make a whole new gryphon instead of trying to un-sparklefy Pash and here's what happened!
I'm actually pretty happy with this reference sheet. Sure, it's simple, but it's also to-the-point. Besides, only a full-body is required and that's what most people are posting. A reference sheet just doesn't feel complete to me without the wing spread. P:
I think the hardest part of this reference sheet was the markings. Yellow-billed Magpies only live in California, so it's really, really hard to find non-mature pictures of them. In the end, I had to reference from the closely-related Black-billed magpie and follow the short written description here . I still might change a few things about the design, so if anyone can find some photos of an immature Yellow-Billed Magpie, that would be great.
I can't wait until I can draw his adult form. He's gonna be so pretty~

Can I feature Quin in my third challenge? I'm getting all the current Grandesque gryphons together in one shot.

Wow, I love how you drew and colored him. A simple but extremely effective painting. The blending of the two is really nicely done; I like how the feathery texture fades gradually into the hindquarters. And I LOVE his ears.

Thank you!
The feather texture took quite a while to paint, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. His ears are so cute.

Wow this is just an epic piece...I love the way its drawn, the gryphon appears to be very kind and subdued, but as I've heard in some myths they are very easily stirred to annoyance.
Beautiful piece.

Quin can be kind of hot-headed, so I could imagine him being easily annoyed at times. I haven't really read any mythology lately, but your comment makes me want to check it out again. It might help me give my gryphons more "realistic" personalities.
Thank you for such a nice comment.
