Description NPC for
Names: N/A
Species: Praedator Aves (Slang: Harpy)
Height: Species ranges from 5'3" to 7'2" (five feet and three inches to seven feet and two inches)
Weight: Varies

Random facts: Their appearance ranges from every bird type to exist.
Example of other breeds of Aves:

About: Praedator Aves are aggressive, territorial, malicious creatures. They're about as abundant in population as the pigeons they eat. They can speak and understand most languages and unless given a reason not to, are apt to hunt/attack small creatures (children, small dogs, birds, ect). They can be extremely clever and devious, so beware.

Relationship with the Tournament: A larg population of the Aves work for Ronald Jackson as Tournament Officials. They were chosen for their vast majority, ability to work together, and their wicked eyesight. Not only are they the referees of the tournament they also provide contestants informational sheets on their opponents and where their next round will be.

Cheating: Since their job is to catch cheaters, having them allow contestants to cheat makes them difficult to coax. However with some shiny coins and a few words of promise might convince them enough to turn a blind eye.

Paper

Side Note to contestants: It is not required that your character accepts the information they give to you, but it is encouraged. The informational sheet were implemented into the tournament to avoid opponent confusion with bystanders.

How does RJ treat them and do they answer to Lacie as well? And do they only accept coins, or do they take cash as well? wait what would they do with coins in the first place? buy a cake? And are these the only breed in this tourney, and can we give them names and personalities?

1) RJ treats them like he treats everyone else: with little empathy and only cares about your existence if you're useful to him.
2) Yes they take orders from Laceration.
3) honestly you could hand them crumpled foil and they'd be amused for hours by it. Birdbrained sometimes.
4) They do have homes and lives you know, lol. What they do with the money is their business. Whether be going to a mc donalds or buying a fancy purse.
5)Um, in the description I do clearly state their breeds vary and include thumbnails of other breeds of them. Their appearance/breed are as abundant in variety as our worlds bird species

Since there is more than one can you kill them?

yes, but I wouldn't encourage hurting them. They work in large packs. Just think of ants and that's basically how they attack. In swarms...

So the locations aren't going to be random meetings, the characters are going to know that that's where their battle is going to be?

Also those things are scary as fuck. Birds creep me out enough without having human faces and bellhop hats. Thank you for the nightmares.

It might be hard for people to know who to fight when the area they fight in is full of dozens of people. Of course you don't have to accept the paper, you can lose it, or eat it, so on and so fourth.
Now the character can waltz into the area on their own and then find out who they fight, but I don't know many folk who would waltz into a sewer by will.
All this is for is to provide a solid stepping stone for contestants ^^
The creativity is up to you.

And you think its scary? I thought it was cute XD

Yeah that sewer thing was bothering me for a bit. I kept trying to figure out why anyone would go there without someone kicking them into an open manhole. Glad that's cleared up.

And fuck YES. The Dark Crystal scarred me. Huge bird things are my mortal enemies -_-
