Well, it's been almost three months since I did this. Now folks will understand what I'm talking about when I mention 'Spitfire!' XD I'm finally revealing the Ultimate Ref Sheet for my Red-Tailed Hawk Dutchie, Spitfire!

This guy is Sniper's hot-headed cousin, and is a strike-fighter by heart and profession. Red-Tailed Hawks have always held a close spot to my heart. I spent many years growing up in forested mountains and got to see these guys and American Kestrels on a daily basis, and got to witness first-hand many generations of them roost and grow up over the seasons. And then when they fledged, I'd see them gliding high overhead, fully-grown and beautiful~

I designed 'Spit' here to be aerodynamic and striking, with very bold markings. Some of his markings and (mainly) colours are also inspired partly by the red fox, another creature that was quite close to home. His markings are very in-your-face to be flashy and sharp, a herald to his profession as a strike-fighter! The bands on his tail and wings, (while also being hawk-like,) also represent the pinstripes on some of the fancier high-performance aircraft I've encountered. BD

He's so sassy, and wants to be Jaeger. He wishes he was blue and gold so bad, haha.

And also, and ah, this is when I wish I could animate! When he gets flustered, he arches his neck really deep like a horse and shakes his head and neck back and forth, making his feather crest and mane on his withers swoosh back and forth. XD Needless to say, he bites the hand that feeds him. He also picks on Spirit /way/ too much, and gets yelled at by Sniper, hehe.

Expect more art of this guy coming soon! In my ongoing quest to do more personal art, I already have several pieces sketched up that I'll be finishing up of him - he's very dynamic. *zooms away*
