Description
cold licks the ground withan almost unwelcome frost.
biting into skin and sinking
deep, deep into carefully
warmed sinew.
lamps are lit and cast a
warmly yellow light
onto unbidden streets.
time seems to stop all
together and the muffled
hush urges you to venture
past the fogged window panes.
merging into the streets for
the pleasure of cold skin.

This is very good with the use of metaphor and imagery. "The sky roars" is a wonderful use of personification too. I really like this.
