Description You may recognize this girl as being the Photoshop version of my "Golf Anyone?" Blue haired chick, but after all that golfing she needed a hot bath!

I did this completely in Photoshop after watching some of those speed Photoshop vids on youtube, (which I do suggest) and some tutorials too, I'm working on getting better with drawing with Photoshop from scratch. Not just photo manip-ing.

No tablet though, just a mouse. I really need a tablet.

Smoke effect done with a speckle-y brush liquified and changing the opacity and making it a overlay layer effect, including a lot of other trial and error I couldn't remember if I tried. XD

Okay this may sound nutty, but I'm really looking for... negative comments? lol. Constructive Critique is more like it. Where I live I don't know or talk to many experienced artists, someone who will really help me grow. I always get the "good job" or the most annoying "You drew that?! I can't even draw a (straight line, stick figure, circle, etc)!" and I'm really looking for more. So compliements are fine but real critque (as long as you're not name calling, lol) is awesome.

Uh, okay, you want negative comments?
I may not be the right person to give it to you but here goes:

I like your concept and layout but I noticed your lineart sometimes just disappeared. I'm not sure if that's intentional but it makes the piece look a little messy/unfinished or too blurry at some parts.

And while the blue upper half of the picture blends very nicely, your other other colours aren't as unified. The skin is a bit too saturated too red?) but I'm willing to believe that it's supposed to be like that.
I'm guessing you don't like drawing bathtubs because there doesn't seem to be enough depth there. There's no shadow where the arm rests on it and while bathtubs are often made out of some kind of shiny material, there's no reflection on this one.

Then again, it's a conceptual piece so technically, you can defy any colour rule you want. I do like this piece though.

thank you for your comments, this was one of my first tries at painting in photoshop after watching a lot of tuts online. i only have a mouse so a lot of the technical detail kept being too shaky to keep so a lot of detail i had to be deleted and blurred to make it look decent. She's so red because the background has changed like eleventy billion times, it was a deep purple which is where i found a lot of reds in the skin. then the blue took over and that made the reds look redder.

i do love the negativity, it helps me see whats going on, and not just what i like about something.

I know what you mean. Photoshop is still like the boogieman for me.
But don't worry about it. You're on a good path~

I really like this , particulary the way the hair blends into the background. I wouldn't class myself as experienced or talented, but what I think could make it look better would be a little bit more definition on the arm holding the cigarette (some of the reddish shadows used on the rest of the skin perhaps?). Also the little blue bits on the bubbles inbetween her arm and breast look really good, maybe some more of them so the rest of the bubbles aren't just flat and white?

Other than that this is really impressive, especially as it was drawn using a mouse!!

thx it was kind of a rush job, since i really need a tablet, and the bubbles are annoying as all get out with a mouse, lol. but i really appreciate the constructive criticism, its good so i can look at the piece from another angle, and when i get that tablet i'm sure i'll tackle this one again

hehe no worries, you've inspired me to dig out my tablet and do some more digital art, it's been a while cos my old laptop was dying and may have exploded if tried anything complex on photoshop, but I got a shiny new one for christmas, yay!
