I was trying to make it look like the recoil from a knock out punch but the eye is open and it just looks like a chubbier me spitting everywhere! oo well
Not my best work. Will do something spectacular next time to make up for it

I was considering remaking it, looks a bit clunky, the pose could be more expressive and the doodles are a bit spurlooshed, or would that be overworking it? (I have a terrible problem with overworking things and ruining them!)

The effect of the color splatter/spit and the contortion of the face is really well done. I think the eye being open adds a nice touch to the image. almost like a dare to the attacker; "is that all you've got?", kinda thing.

I think you got the idea across (the idea of a punch) fairly well, you'd just need to flatten the cheek a bit more and add some reddish/pinkish discoloration.

i got the punch impression from it, the strain on the neck and effects around the chin portray the punch impact quite nicely imo.
