Neutral Star was a repurposed corellian defender from the old republic redesigned specifically by the Jedi Council to act as a true neutral ground long before the Clone Wars began.   The crew is hand selected by the Jedi, the crew's families protected and taken care of as if they were the chancellor himself so as to rid the ability to persuade crew to influence any meetings taking place.

Only one Diplomat per nation, or one representative for a group of nations, is allowed to board the ship. All necessities of the representatives will be taken care of by the crew. During intense and/or dangerous negotiations or diplomatic runs, an integrated system gave an alert to all ships inside of five parsecs that were not registered to be near it and automatically course adjusted ships for further security in High alert situations, and those that were registered were not allowed direct courses to intercept. Instead the system plotted courses for the ships giving time for confirmation of rendezvoux.

The ship was gutted and all new tech placed inside, opening up quite a bit of space compared to what was available in the days of the old republic so certain amenities could be added as well as state of the art shields, weapons, and engines making it a formidable vessel to catch, fight or destroy in almost any circumstances.

It is the only ship with the interior design as it was such a closely guarded secret by the Jedi so as no proper assault could be made on it in the event of it's boarding. Numerous defenses, both lethal and non-lethal, for both the crew and its diplomatic occupant were installed and hidden within the walls of the ship.
