I'm from Spain. I learn mixed English. I prefer British English, though, but I can't help to use the mixed version I've been taught at school. 

So, how do you say it? Math? Without S? Well. In Spain we say 'Mates'. Plural. Not 'Mate'. I think it's even more logical for me to use the Britanic one. If that gives you a better explanation. XD
