I just watched Season 1 of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood today in Japanese, and needless to say, IT IS ACTUALLY WAY BETTER SOMEHOW.

There are a lot of key points and phrases that were translated totally differently than what they were saying. One in particular that stood out was when Hughes was dying, he says in the English version, "Elicia... daddy loves you,"
But in the Japanese version he said "Elicia... I wasn't able to go home early,"

Also, there are a LOT more parallels between Edward and Roy Mustang just because of dialogue. For example, when Roy was first being an asshole to Edward after the boy lost his arm and leg, he tells him to "Get up and walk, move forward,"
And later on, Edward uses the exact same phrasing with Rose when he's being an asshole to her, telling her to "Get up and walk, move forward. At least YOU have strong legs to take you there."

And then Riza says a few different things, too, that were not translated into English the same way. Dayum. I feel like I'm getting so much more out of this series by watching it in the original language it was written in. Holy shat. X__X

And a bunch of other things that just did not translate the same way. 8U

Anywho.

Have a Roy and a Riza. Being badass. Because that's what they're good at.
