Description Ok this is actually finished as far as modeling, i just now need to add textures, it is based on a number of space stations i have seen. most of the design is from DS9 obviously.
i also threw a couple of novus cruisers in there for good measure. also i am looking to put this in a space scene??

take your time and add them in slowly . . .
My suggestion to you is break the mesh into 3rds and build that way . . . . then when you are done radial array it. If you go to my DA page you will see my DS9 I am building, I started it 8 months ago . . . it's all about adding the detail . . . but don't rush it . . it will always be there to finish.

cheers for the advice, I have a few models that need more work, i work on them occasionally piece by piece adding bits here and there. This model is actually broken down into quarters and then mirrored, it is saved across a couple of files to allow for test rendering with lighting and textures.

As you said, it looks a bit like DS9.
But if i try not to have Startrek in mind^^ it is very well done!!

Well, i think the hangars are too big, because where do the ships be when they are in the Station?

the hangars i thought would be supersized to hold the largest of ships without going into to much detail, i have added some smaller hangars but this station is designed to be a huge command post also
with all the front-line support facilities capable of effecting repairs to even the largest vessels of the fleet. the hangers are effectively huge dry docks.

This really interesting . . . it has a lot of elements from DS9 . . . you have a good eye for concept, but I would add a lot more detail to the station to really make it sing. what program are you using? and how many poly's is that so far?

I use a program called cinema 4d, i was probably gonna use textures to add detail so far as windows and such although i may add some other bits of detail??. it is currently coming out at 280000 polys at the moment
