I agree, like so many DC characters she has a lot of potential but tends to get mishandled. I should really do another of her, its been a while now.

I had almost forgotten about the Shazam thing, I can't work out why DC did that, if i recall right their Captain Marvel predates the Marvel Comics one by decades. Still Marvel comics doesn't have a Mary Marvel so i think her name is safe.

DCΒ had the rights but if you don't use a character for too long you can lose those rights. They let him sit unused for too long and then Marvel created there captain marvel and calmed the rights to the name.Β

Last time I saw them in a comic was in the Renew your vows book (a very good idea where Peter and MJ are still together and have a kid ^^) but they barely showed up.
But apparently their book comes back in November, I can't wait

I tend to think she should almost always be portrayed as cute/sweet/etc, it suits her.

It really is a nice change from Power Girl, as Mary Marvel is another one of those heroines who doesn't get enough love, so this artwork is pretty much welcome to those of us who are fans of her.
