I was in the mood to draw The Injustice DC Universe version of Powergirl and Captain Atom, based on the games design and comics design respectively.Sadly only Power Girl has featured in the game series so far and only as an alternate costume for Supergirl ( given they altered her voice and chest, i would have thought they could have broadened her shoulders a little or raised her height ).Β It's a pity since Power Girl should fight in a very different manner to Supergirl, being a character who tends to favour her more direct physical capabilities over her elaborate powers.
As for Captain Atom, he featured in the original comic series where he satisfyingly beat the soon to be tyrant Superman to his knees, only for Wonder Woman to interfere. While the character seemingly died in an explosion in the comic it would be exceptionally easy to bring the character back, and his abilities suit a pyrotechnical fighting game. Well, there's always Injustice 3...

Sort of one out of two, it just seems odd to me that they couldn't make her a proper character for the game with her own moves.

Awesome work here. I'm a bit indifferent to Powergirl as just a costume, buuuuut this is the same series who first game had seven flipping batman family members in it ugh.

Thanks. They did change her voice but ideally Power girl should have been a separate character with her own move set. I had forgotten how many Bat family characters were in the first game, i never really tended to play them

The pairing of them goes back a long time to when i was first introduced to them in 1989's 'Justice League Europe'. Power Girl was initially quite critical of Captain Atom who in return was dismissive of her attitude, but in spite of this they developed a good friendship. Disappointingly later writers rarely touched on it until 2010's 'Justice League Generation Lost', and then DC rebooted everything.
Basically i think they work well together.

Yeah that the nightmare for comic book fans it hard to tell what canon because everything keep getting rebooted

Annoyingly NR always stick far too many guest characters in because they apparently sell the best, hence why we will be getting Sub Zero and Raiden from Mortal Kombat and Spawn as well.

I think it would be ironic if MVC:I ends up having Angela in as a guest character whilst Injustice has Spawn. And that's because her rights were transferred over to Marvel by Neil Gaiman (who owned her).

Considering how he looks here, he might be a good Premiere skin for Supes. But yes, would be cool to see him in a future game again. Can't he like reform his molecules or something?

They would have to slightly alter things so that he fires energy from his hands rather than his eyes, but i could see that working.
Caps powers and durability goes all over the place depending on the writer but typically the explosion of excess energy he suffered would probably have hurled him forward in time.
